Titre : Elliptic Gauss sums and applications
Résumé :
In this talk we deal with elliptic Gauss sums, which were first defined by Mihailescu with a view to a possible application for counting points on elliptic curves via a modification of the SEA algorithm. After a general introduction on polynomially cyclic algebras and Lagrange resolvents we specialize to elliptic Gauss sums. We consider universal elliptic Gauss sums, as designed by Franke, and the means to compute them by using modular functions. Finally, we will talk about possible applications in the SEA algorithm.
